Introduction:

Manchurian Chicken is a popular Indo-Chinese dish that combines tender fried chicken with a savory and pungent sauce. Ingredients:

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp, corn flour
  • 2 tbsp, all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 3-4 green chilies, slit
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp chili sauce
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp chopped spring onions (for garnish)

Instructions:

Marinate the Chicken:

Combine the chicken pieces with the egg, ginger-garlic paste, corn flour, all-purpose flour, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Give it a good 20 to 30 minutes to marinade.

Fry the Chicken:

The marinated chicken pieces should be deep-fried in hot oil till golden brown. To remove any excess oil, place aside on a paper towel.

Prepare the Sauce:

In another pan, heat a little oil. Add the green chilies, bell peppers, and chopped onions. Let them cook for a few minutes until they become somewhat soft.

Combine:

To the pan, add vinegar, chili sauce, tomato ketchup, and soy sauce. Mix well and heat for a little while. You may thin down the sauce by adding a small amount of water.

Last Touch:

Toss the fried chicken in the sauce to ensure uniform coating. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Garnish and Serve:

Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot with broiled rice or noodles.
