Synopsis
Samira, a terminally ill cancer patient, lives at a lodge in New York City with her cat, Frodo. One day, Reuben, a care worker, convinces a reticent Sam to join a group spin to Manhattan. During the trip, the group noticed meteor-like objects crashing into the city. A short while later, people start to get attacked by hostile extraterrestrial species. In the preceding chaos, Sam is knocked unconscious.
Later on, Sam awakens alongside Frodo and the other survivors in a puppet theater. Everyone is quiet, and she’s gestured by fellow survivor Henri to avoid making any noise. adverts from overhead military helicopters advise civilians to stay silent and hidden until deliverances can be made, with the islands leading out of the megacity being bombed to help the brutes from leaving the islet. One of the survivors begins to horrify, which causes Henri to accidentally kill him in the process of calming him down.
After Reuben is killed by a critter, a distrait Sam takes Frodo and leaves for Harlem. The service announces that boats are preparing to void civilians from the south side of the megacity, with the brutes being unfit to swim. Groups of people start leaving structures towards the evacuation point, but the sheer volume of moving together in crowds warns the brutes, who attack them and beget a rush. Sam flees in the contrary direction and is separated from Frodo.
Eric, an English law pupil, encounters Frodo and follows him back to Sam. She attempts to move him to the evacuation point, but Eric is shell-shocked and follows Sam back to her apartment rather, where she hopes to find pain medicine. Sam and Eric latterly agree to travel together and hardly avoid the creatures as they make their way to Harlem. Along the way, Eric gets Sam’s drug for her from a nearby drugstore. Sam tells him that, as a child, she used to watch her late father play jazz at a club and would get pizza with him at Patsy’s later; a commodity Sam always wanted to do before she died. Eric fulfills Sam’s want by taking her to the club, collecting pizza from another store, and performing a magic card trick to cheer her up.
Later, Eric and Sam become apprehensive of two boats hard, filled with passengers preparing to escape. As the two leave together, creatures start to congregate hard. As Eric leaps into the river with Frodo in tow and is hauled up onto a boat by Henri, Sam dashes out to divert the animals’ attention by shattering vehicle windows. He also finds a note in his jacket from Sam, telling Eric to continue taking care of Frodo and thanking him for reminding her to live.
Eventually, later, Sam walks into an empty road as she listens to” Feeling Good” via an iPod. Accepting her imminent fate, Sam smiles as she removes the earphones and lets the music bowwow just a critter appears behind her.
